Tia Nina is always a joy to work with. I've shot their shows frequently in the past few years and they are consistently smart, funny, unexpected, high-energy, and entertaining as all get out. JUICED is their newest show: a collection of new pieces and existing numbers that was presented in a festival of subversive work at the University of Maryland's Dance Theatre.
Fox Cried started as an Artistic Blind Date at the 2014 Source Festival, combining the talents, interests, and creative energies of a musician, a visual artist, and a theatre actor/director. The production pictured was a further exploration of the work began last summer, combining mythology, masks, mixed media, dance, and music to create a unique, unsettling experience.

I was fortunate enough to be asked to document the rehearsal process of Smokey Joe's Café at Arena Stage. I worked with the marketing and social networking team at Arena, we decided on a raw and vintage look for the shots, to call to mind the photographic style that documented the early days of rock 'n' roll and the creation of the music that makes up the show.
